PRP therapy.
Your own platelets, concentrated and returned to your skin to support texture, tone, and the body's natural collagen response. Performed with sterile single-use kits and same-visit application.
Your own biology, concentrated.
PRP — platelet-rich plasma — is a concentration of the platelets in your own blood. Platelets contain growth factors that signal repair, collagen production, and vascular renewal. When PRP is delivered into the skin through microchannels (created by microneedling or fractional laser) or injected into specific areas, those signals trigger your skin's own remodeling process.
Because PRP is autologous — drawn from you, returned to you — there is no allergy or rejection risk. The biology is your own. What changes is concentration: a small blood draw, processed in a centrifuge, returns plasma several times richer in platelets than circulating blood.
PRP supports skin quality across multiple dimensions: texture, tone, fine-line softening, hydration, and overall radiance. Results build over weeks to months as collagen remodels — this is not an instant fix, but a treatment that compounds over a series.
Sterile draw, same-visit application.
PRP at Reviv Med Spa in Millbrae is performed by our Medical Director Dr. Gayle Misle, MD, and our Aesthetic Nurse Megan Sosnick, RN — both with extensive training in sterile blood-draw technique, PRP processing, and skin delivery methods. PRP is biologic, which means sterile technique and careful processing aren't optional. Our process is single-use kit, closed-system processing, and same-visit application.
Your visit:
- Blood draw 10–30 mL
- Antecubital vein, the same as a routine blood test.
- Centrifuge 10–15 min
- Closed-system processing separates the plasma fraction; topical numbing is applied during this step.
- Skin preparation microneedling, laser, or direct injection
- Method depends on the protocol — combination with Sciton Halo for the strongest texture/tone response, microneedling when downtime needs to stay short, direct injection for tear-trough and perioral.
- PRP application through channels
- Topical application across the microchannels, or injection into target areas.
Total visit time is 60 to 90 minutes. We commonly pair PRP with Sciton Halo Hybrid Fractional Laser (the strongest combination for texture and tone), with microneedling when laser downtime isn't tolerable, or with direct injection for tear-trough and perioral lines.
Six areas, one biologic.
In your consultation we'll identify which areas would benefit most for your goals. Most patients begin with full face; the other areas come into the plan as the protocol matures.
Full face
Texture, tone, radiance — collagen support across the face.
Neck
Laxity and crepiness; biologic support for thinning skin.
Decolletage
Sun damage and fine lines on the chest.
Tear trough
Under-eye hollows — fine-needle direct injection technique.
Perioral lines
Around the mouth, often paired with combination protocols.
Hands
Texture and crepe support on the dorsum.
Skin quality, from the inside.
Texture and skin quality
Roughness, dullness, and uneven surface that has not responded to topicals alone.
Fine lines and early laxity
The early etching that builds before deep wrinkles set in — biologic support for collagen.
Tone and radiance
A gradual freshness as the inflammatory response resolves and remodeling begins.
Pairing with laser or microneedling
PRP amplifies the healing response when delivered through laser- or microneedle-created channels.

What to know, in four lines.
- 01
PRP is autologous — drawn from you, processed, and returned to you. There is no allergy or rejection risk because the biology is your own.
- 02
Results build over weeks to months as collagen remodels. This is not an instant fix; the visible response compounds across a series.
- 03
Single sessions help around an event; the durable result comes from a 3-session series spaced 4–6 weeks apart, then maintenance every 12–18 months.
- 04
Pricing is per session and quoted in writing at consultation. Combination protocols (PRP + Halo, PRP + microneedling) carry a different price point than PRP alone.
From your first session, to a remodeled response.
Treatment day. Small blood draw, 10 min in the centrifuge to separate platelet-rich plasma, then application — direct injection or topically with microneedling. Total visit: 60–90 min.
Mild redness, pinpoint bruising at injection sites, and slight swelling. Most patients return to a normal day. Avoid actives, alcohol, and heavy exercise for 24 hours.
Gradual improvement begins as growth factors signal collagen remodeling. Skin reads brighter, texture smoother. The response is real but slow — this is biology, not a topical.
Peak visible response from a single session. For durable change, most patients complete a 3-session series spaced 4–6 weeks apart, then refresh every 12–18 months.
What it actually costs.
PRP at Reviv is priced per session, with most patients booking a series of 3. Combination protocols (PRP + Halo Hybrid Fractional Laser, PRP + microneedling) carry a different price point than PRP alone. Final cost depends on the protocol your skin responds best to — and the protocol your skin responds best to we quote in writing at consultation, before any treatment begins.
Who it's for — and who it isn't.
- Adults seeking texture, tone, and radiance support beyond what topicals alone can deliver
- Patients pairing PRP with fractional laser (Halo, MOXI) or microneedling for a stronger combination response
- Patients with under-eye hollows or perioral fine lines suited to direct-injection PRP
- Patients comfortable with a series approach and a months-long timeline
- Pregnant or breastfeeding patients
- Patients with bleeding disorders or those on blood thinners that cannot be paused
- Active skin infection at the treatment area or certain autoimmune conditions
- Patients seeking volume restoration — that is a filler conversation

What people say about Reviv.
The whole team takes their time. No upselling, no pressure — just a thoughtful plan and beautiful results. The space itself feels like a sanctuary.
I've tried four other med spas in the Bay Area. Reviv is the only one where I feel genuinely listened to. Worth the drive from the city.
Conservative, honest, and skilled. They told me I didn't need half of what I was considering — and the things they did do were perfect.

How long do PRP facial results last?
Most patients see continuing improvement over 3 to 6 months as collagen remodels, with visible results lasting 12 to 18 months. Maintenance treatments every 12 to 18 months sustain the result. Outcomes depend on baseline skin quality, age, and how PRP is paired with other treatments.
How does PRP work?
Platelets contain growth factors that signal tissue repair and collagen production. When concentrated PRP is applied to the skin through microchannels (microneedling or laser-created), the growth factors stimulate fibroblast activity, collagen deposition, and improved skin texture. Because it is your own blood, there is no allergy or rejection risk.
How much does PRP facial cost?
Pricing is per session, typically as a series of 3 sessions for the durable result. Combination protocols (PRP + Halo, PRP + microneedling) carry a different price point than PRP alone. We quote in writing at consultation, before any treatment begins.
Does PRP hurt?
The blood draw is the same sensation as any blood test — brief, well-tolerated. The microneedling or laser application stings; topical numbing applied for 30 minutes beforehand brings most patients to a 3–4 out of 10. Direct injection PRP for under-eye or specific areas requires fine-needle injection with similar sensation.
Is there downtime?
Mild downtime — 1 to 2 days of redness and pinpoint swelling. Most patients return to work the next day. Skip vigorous exercise, sun, and active skincare ingredients for 5–7 days.
How does PRP compare to laser resurfacing?
They work differently and pair well. Laser (Halo, MOXI) directly creates controlled injury that triggers remodeling. PRP delivers your own growth factors to amplify that healing response. Patients seeking the strongest texture/tone improvement often combine the two on the same visit. PRP alone is gentler with less downtime.
When will I see results?
Initial freshness within a week. Real texture and tone improvement builds over 4 to 8 weeks. Full results develop over 3 to 6 months as collagen continues to remodel.
Are there side effects?
PRP carries minimal risk because it is autologous (your own blood). Possible side effects: mild bruising at the draw site, transient redness, and rare reactions to the topical anesthetic. Because PRP is biologic, sterile technique matters — we use single-use kits and follow strict draw and processing protocols.
How many sessions do I need?
Most patients see best results from a series of 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, then maintenance every 12 to 18 months. Single-session treatments around weddings or events are also done; results are softer with one session.
Who should not get PRP?
Patients with bleeding disorders, those on blood thinners that cannot be paused, active skin infections, certain autoimmune conditions, blood-borne infections, and pregnant or breastfeeding patients. We screen carefully and decline when indicated.
