Patient questions · the consultation

Is a consultation ever more
than a sales pitch?

"Rushed", "didn't listen", "no explanation" are among the most common phrases in low-rated med spa reviews across the region. A consultation should be where your plan gets made, not where a sale gets closed. Here is what that looks like.

Why it is a fair worry

Five minutes
is not a plan.

The pattern is familiar: a quick look, a package suggested, a decision expected while you are still in the chair. Nothing about that is a consultation. It is a close. And it is why many people leave a first visit unsure whether the treatment recommended was the treatment they needed.

A real consultation takes time, ends with something you can read at home, and puts the decision in your hands, not on a clock.

What to expect anywhere

A consultation
that earns the word.

Whatever practice you visit, it should include these.

  • Time. Thirty minutes or more, with the provider who would treat you.
  • Your goals first. Questions about what bothers you and why, before any device or product is mentioned.
  • A written plan and price. Which treatment, how many sessions, what it costs, on paper, before anything is booked.
  • A physician in the loop. For injectables and energy devices, a medical director who reviews the plan.
  • The freedom to leave. No pressure to book, no follow-up sales calls.
How Reviv does it

Thirty to forty-five minutes,
and it ends in writing.

Consultations at Reviv are 30 to 45 unhurried minutes, and most are complimentary. We start with your goals, not our menu. When we recommend a treatment, your plan and pricing are mapped in writing at consultation, before any treatment begins. For body contouring, Dr. Gayle Misle, MD reviews every ONDA Pro plan; for skin rejuvenation we screen carefully and start conservative.

Then you take the plan home. If you choose to schedule, we send pre-care instructions and answer follow-up questions before your appointment day. If you choose to wait or go elsewhere, we wish you well: no pressure, no follow-up sales calls. A short guide to preparing for your consultation covers what to bring so the time is well spent.

Patients from Burlingame, Hillsborough, and San Mateo come to our Millbrae studio for exactly that conversation: one where the plan is made with you, written down, and priced before you decide.

Questions

Asked at the front desk,
answered here.

Does Reviv charge for a consultation?

Most consultations are complimentary. Where a fee applies, you are told when you book.

Will I get a price at the consultation?

Yes. Your plan and pricing are mapped in writing at consultation, before any treatment begins, and starting prices are published on most treatment pages.

Do I have to book treatment the same day?

No. You leave with a written plan and decide on your own time. There is no pressure to book and no follow-up sales calls.
